Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Roman Baths

By Tim | January 1, 2018

I only had 4 days on my first trip to England and my goal for all cities I visit is to do something that gets me physically outside of the city limits. Doing a tour out to Bath was my final choice this time. It turned out to be a great choice; all three stops were highly engagging and the day flew by too fast!

Just a warning, this is a really, really crammed tour in terms of time. They cover a lot for a single day and that is what I was looking for, so it didn’t bother me. However, if you look around at reviews online, you will find complaints. You are visiting all of these places in specific forced time slots to stay on schedule, so you have to keep moving: • Entrance to Windsor Castle • Entrance to Stonehenge • Entrance to the Roman Baths • Panoramic coach tour of Bath • Audio headsets included at Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Roman Baths • Entrance to the Georgian Pump Room It’s simply not very relaxing, but I don’t feel like that is the point of this tour. It’s simply to cover a lot of attractions in minimal time and it successfully accomplishes that goal.

Windsor Castle

I actually didn’t know much about Windsor Castle until I went there and had the tour. I really needed a study session prior to getting to Europe in general the first time!

Stonehenge

It is a weird location for a lot of rocks! The thoughts and research about where they came from and how they were used is extremely interesting. However, in the end it is just a pile of rocks in a field :) Truthfully, this was the reason I choose the tour; Stonehenge is one of these places you hear and read about, so it makes you want to see it in person.

Roman Baths

I was intrigued enough by Bath that I’d like to go there and spend at least a couple of days. The Roman Baths were fantastic to explore and learn more about. It was facinating to learn about how they are built around these natural hot springs.
